Greetings from the National Sports Committee of Indonesia

Greetings, Sports Enthusiasts, To begin, let us express our gratitude to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. It is by His blessings and grace that we are gathered here today for the 2025 Annual General Meeting of the Central Board of the Indonesian Cricket Association. As Chairman of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia, I extend my appreciation to everyone for their dedication in developing cricket in Indonesia, including through this important agenda. Cricket has achieved remarkable milestones under the leadership of Mr. Abhiram Singh Yadav. The U-19 Women’s National Cricket Team successfully participated in the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa. At the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia, the Indonesian cricket team secured one gold medal in the Women’s Sixes format, two silver medals in the Women’s T50 Overs and T20 formats, and one bronze medal in the Men’s Round Robin format. I extend my deepest appreciation for the successful execution of cricket matches during the XXI National Games in Aceh and North Sumatra in 2024. My sincere gratitude goes to the Central Board of the Indonesian Cricket Association for organizing the matches with excellence and to all provincial boards for their outstanding athlete development programs. It is my hope that development efforts will continue to improve, paving the way for world-class athletes. This Annual General Meeting must focus on preparing for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. Additionally, the National Sports Committee of Indonesia encourages an evaluation of organizational governance to ensure better athlete development from grassroots to elite levels.

Going forward, the competitive standards for athletes in every competition must be elevated. We need world-class cricket athletes, as cricket will be one of the sports in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The National Sports Committee of Indonesia has conducted discussions with academics and sports professionals. The conclusion is that the XXII National Games in 2028, to be held in NTB and NTT, will focus on Olympic sports, priority sports with international potential, and host-selected sports, with a total of 600 to 700 competition events.

Beyond the National Games, the National Sports Committee of Indonesia is also designing additional multi-sport events to provide athletes with more high-quality national-level competitions, including the National Martial Arts Games, National Beach Sports Games, National Indoor Sports Games, and Youth National Games.

I wish you all a productive Annual General Meeting of the Central Board of the Indonesian Cricket Association. May this gathering lead to significant decisions for the advancement of cricket in Indonesia. When we speak about sports development organizations like the National Sports Committee of Indonesia, our singular goal is to guide athletes toward excellence.
